About the AI tutor

The AI tutor is an optional study feature offered by Checkride Academy (operated by Oneways AI, Inc., a Delaware corporation). It is powered by a third-party large language model (Anthropic). When you use it, you are interacting with an AI system, not a human instructor.

AI-generated answers can be inaccurate, incomplete, or out of date, and may sound confident while being wrong. The tutor is a study aid only. It is not an FAA-authorized source and does not provide professional, legal, medical, or authoritative aeronautical advice. Do not rely on it for safety-of-flight or certification decisions.

You are responsible for verifying anything safety- or certification-related against the current ACS, FARs, AIM, and your certificated flight instructor (CFI) before relying on it. Checkride Academy is independent and is not affiliated with, approved by, accredited by, or endorsed by the FAA, and we do not guarantee any test, checkride, or examination result.

Messages you send to the tutor are transmitted to our AI provider (Anthropic) to generate a response. By default, that provider does not use API data to train its models; if you submit explicit feedback on a response, it may be retained for a limited time in de-identified form. Do not submit sensitive personal information to the tutor. See our Privacy Policy for details.
