Terms of Service

Checkride Academy is operated by Oneways AI, Inc., a Delaware corporation (“Oneways AI,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Checkride Academy storefront, courses, the learning application, and the AI tutor (together, the “Service”). By creating an account, purchasing, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms, our Privacy Policy, and our Refund Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service.

Checkride Academy is an independent, non-Part-141 self-study course and study aid. We are not affiliated with, approved by, accredited by, or endorsed by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) or any government agency, and our materials are not an authoritative source. Always verify against the current ACS, FARs, AIM, and consult your certificated flight instructor (CFI). We do not guarantee that you will pass any knowledge test, checkride, or examination.

You are responsible for the accuracy of your account information, for keeping your credentials secure, and for all activity under your account. Notify us promptly of any unauthorized use. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

Subject to these Terms and your payment of applicable fees, we grant you a limited, personal, non-commercial, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the courses and content you are entitled to, and to download or print materials solely for your own personal study. You may not:

• resell, sublicense, rent, or redistribute the content;
• share, transfer, or provide access to your account with anyone else;
• scrape, crawl, bulk-download, or use automated means to extract content; or
• remove proprietary notices or use the content to build a competing product.

You agree not to misuse the Service, including by attempting to disrupt or gain unauthorized access to it, infringing others’ rights, uploading unlawful or harmful material, or using it in violation of applicable law. We may investigate and take appropriate action, including suspension or termination, for violations.

The Service and its content (excluding U.S. government works such as the ACS and FARs, and excluding your own inputs) are owned by Oneways AI, Inc. or its licensors and are protected by intellectual-property laws. Except for the limited license above, no rights are granted to you.

The AI tutor is an optional study aid powered by a third-party AI provider. You are interacting with an AI system, not a human, and its responses may be inaccurate or incomplete and are not authoritative or professional advice. Do not submit sensitive personal information to the tutor. You retain ownership of the inputs you submit and grant us a license to process them to provide and improve the Service, as described in the Privacy Policy.

We offer one-time course purchases and auto-renewing subscriptions, sold through our payment provider (Shopify). For subscriptions:

• Your subscription automatically renews at the end of each billing period (monthly or annual, as selected) until you cancel.
• We will charge the recurring fee shown at checkout, at the stated frequency, to your payment method, until you cancel. Prices may change with notice.
• You may cancel at any time through your account/billing settings (or as described in our Refund Policy); cancellation is as easy as signing up and stops future renewals.
• Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period; see the Refund Policy for refund treatment.

All fees are in U.S. dollars and exclusive of taxes unless stated. Refunds are governed by our Refund Policy.

THE SERVICE AND ALL CONTENT ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE, OR THAT ANY CONTENT (INCLUDING AI-TUTOR OUTPUT) IS ACCURATE, CURRENT, OR AUTHORITATIVE. WE DO NOT GUARANTEE ANY TEST, CHECKRIDE, OR EXAMINATION RESULT.

As stated above, Checkride Academy is an independent study aid and is not affiliated with or endorsed by the FAA; always verify against the current ACS, FARs, AIM, and your CFI.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, ONEWAYS AI, INC. AND ITS OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AND SUPPLIERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM WILL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US FOR THE SERVICE IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM. SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW CERTAIN LIMITATIONS, SO SOME OF THE ABOVE MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Oneways AI, Inc. from claims, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising from your misuse of the Service or violation of these Terms.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.

Binding arbitration; class-action waiver. Except for small-claims matters and requests for injunctive relief, any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service will be resolved by binding individual arbitration, not in court, under the Federal Arbitration Act. You and Oneways AI waive any right to a jury trial and to participate in a class, collective, or representative action. You may opt out of this arbitration agreement by emailing legal@checkride.academy within 30 days of first accepting these Terms; opting out does not affect the other Terms.

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date and, where appropriate, by additional notice. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
